Who are Scotlandtherapy?
Stuart and Denise are business partners as well as being married. They are the partners in Scotlandtherapy. Scotlandtherapy trades as a partnership based at the South Side Centre, 1st Floor, 86 Causewayside, Edinburgh EH9 1PY.
Stuart is the Senior partner, Denise is part time and restricted by disabilities. Stuart works around his role as an unpaid carer. Sessions are strictly by appointment only since rooms are arranged at the various venues on a needs basis. Typically Falkirk and Glasgow are alternate Thursdays and several days per week are available in Edinburgh.
Trading as Scotlandtherapy
We have a number of website names, and we have a training division known as SHTC. However we trade as Scotlandtherapy. We are currently setting up an Irish sub branch.
Tax and Data registration
We are registered with the HMRC as a partnership trading as Scotlandtherapy and we are ICO registered for data handling as Scotlandtherapy. We are currently organising tax registration for practice in Ireland (2017).
Insurance, professional registration, PVG
We are individually insured (worldwide coverage), professionally registered, AR scheme registered and PVG (enhanced disclosure scheme in Scotland) registered.
Stuart is a regularly published article writer in journals including Self and Society, and has been published in a recent technical book on the future of psychotherapy (Chapter 3). His “Stress Pack” won a clinical award of excellence and an updated version is available on Amazon.
Stuart has played a role as Board member or Advisory Board member of a number of professional bodies and continues to be actively involved in a number of UK professional bodies. He is a Fellow of several professional organisations including the Royal Society of Public Health, the Institute of Health Promotion and Education, the Royal Scottish Society of Arts, the National Council of Psychotherapists and the International Council of Psychotherapists.

Personal life and interests
Stuart has been involved in eastern psychology, eastern philosophy and multi-faith exploration since his teenage years. Although he only uses pastoral and spiritual models in his work when specifically requested by clients, he has been included as an ordained multi-faith minister with several interfaith organisations over the years and is currently ordained clergy with a spiritual humanist organisation. Faith is NEVER brought into clinical therapy unless requested by the client. Stuart also enjoys mindful walking, hi energy walking, weight training and historically has practised and taught a mixed range of martial and combat arts. Stuart is also politically active and hold various roles within local politics, as well as having a regular political column in a professional journal.
