Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy in Edinburgh
Stuart initially trained in psychoanalysis, but since graduation in 1996 has trained in a range of different psychotherapy methods including CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy). Psychotherapy is available for a range of issues, both in assisting mental health condition management using CBT based psychological therapies (as recommended by NICE), and also for emotional issues, including deep analysis. Deeper analysis looks at developmental issues during a person’s life and helps them to understand themselves better and to develop self awareness and new choices. Since graduation Stuart also completed the assessment and accreditation process in counselling, psychotherapy and hypnotherapy with the NACHP.

Stuart provides a number of types of counselling including:

Hypnotherapy in Edinburgh
Stuart uses clinical hypnotherapy within courses of psychoanalysis with clients. He also uses it for lower level cases of emotional distress or personal change, such as phobias, motivation, confidence and performance anxiety. He also provides specialist sports hypnosis drawing on his background as a martial art coach and instructor. Stuart often combines mindfulness with hypnosis for stress and anxiety management. Stuart also treats IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) with hypnotherapy (as recommended by NICE).
Stuart also uses NLP Neuro linguistic programming, a modelling offshoot of hypnosis and other therapies.
Life Coaching in Edinburgh
Drawing on his business degree, his NVQ Training and Development level 4 award in the area of health education, and his specific life coaching and NLP training, Stuart combines is coaching knowledge with his therapy background to provide therapeutic life coaching. Life coaching with a therapeutic model looks at goal setting, problem solving, environmental issues, support issues and personal change issues in a holistic way to enable long term self awareness and change.
